Milica Dukic (1989, Kraljevo) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Novi Sad with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in painting and a master’s degree in drawing. She is a member of SULUV (The Association of Fine Artists of Vojvodina), as well as the member of the Gallery Shock collective (Sok zadruga). She has had 13 solo exhibitions and she has participated in more than 70 group art projects. In her practice she explores new approaches of embroidery techniques. She lives in Novi Sad.

What is the language in common for the young people today?

Prepoznavanje entuzijazma uprkos svemu.

What does the process of making one of your pieces look like?

U svom radu koristim tehniku veza, ona iziskuje vreme i proces je meditativan. Dnevne novine me inspirišu zbog vizuelnog sadržaja i prepleta istog.

Which challenges have you faced while making art as you know it?

Do you consider yourself an artist, and what does that word mean to you?

Jesam, i reč za mene predstavlja ostvarenje.

What is your escape from reality? Do you even have a need to escape from something?

Stvarnost me dotiče/ inspiriše. Istina, ne čitam novine i ne gledam vesti, to jest, vrlo retko.

What does the word innovative mean to you?

Možda biti istrajan,predan.

Do you have a plan for the future? Where can your artistic practice take you?

What made the biggest influence on you to become what you are today and do what you do now?

How would you describe Serbian (Balkan or European-depends on where you live and work) contemporary cultural scene?

Rekla bih da je zanimljiva.

In which way does your creative process shape you or changes you as a person, if it does at all?

Siguro da da, neki put mi se čini da je on (moj stvaralački proces) ispred mene i da me upućuje na nešto.
